Prayer

We encourage everyone who is involved in the 2017 Belize Festival of Hope to pray every day for the upcoming event. Here is a guide for the 31 days of the month.

Day 1: Pray for July 22, 2017 - the day of the Belize Festival of Hope. “Can a nation be saved in a day?” (Isaiah 66:8). 

Day 2: Pray for Dean Barrow, the Prime Minister of Belize. Pray for all the Cabinet Members. “By me kings reign, and rulers decree justice” (Proverbs 8:15). 

Day 3: Pray for the National Assembly of Belize. Pray for all the members of the House of Representatives and the Senate. Pray for the legislators to have wisdom and to make laws that are just and fair. “When the righteous rule, the people rejoice…” (Proverbs 29:2). 

Day 4: Pray for the government officials of Belize, the military, and the police. Pray for the Supreme Court and the Judiciary to make wise decisions. “If a king judges the poor with fairness, his throne will always be secure” (Proverbs 29:15). 

Day 5: Pray for the city councils, the town councils, the village councils, and the community councils across the nation. Pray for all the mayors and council members. 

Day 6: Pray for San Ignacio and the district of Cayo. 

Day 7: Pray for Belmopan, the capital of Belize. 

Day 8: Pray for Belize District and Belize City, the economic hub of Belize.

Day 9: Pray for Corozal district, next to Mexico. 

Day 10: Pray for Orange Walk District. Pray for those who speak Plautdietsch.  

Day 11: Pray for Stan Creek District and Dangriga. Pray for Hopkins and everyone who speaks Garifuna. Pray for an end to syncretism and black magic. 

Day 12: Pray for Toledo District, the forgotten district.  Pray for Punta Gorda. Pray for those who speaks Mopan and Kekchi Maya. 

Day 13: Pray for San Pedro Island, where tourists go to sin. “But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more…” (Romans 5:20). 

Day 14: Pray for peace and good relations with Guatemala and Mexico, with all the Caribbean and Central American nations, and with the United States. “He shall speak peace to the nations” (Zechariah 9:10). 

Day 15: Pray for the children of Belize. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 19:14). 

Day 16: Pray for the youth of Belize. “O God, You have taught me from my youth; And to this day I declare Your wondrous works” (Psalm 71:17). 

Day 17: Pray for the economic prosperity of Belize. Pray for the businessmen and businesswomen of Belize to be blessed. “You shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth…” (Deuteronomy 8:18). 

Day 18: Pray for unity among all the churches of Belize. Pray for revival among the churches. Pray for believers across Belize to hunger for more of God. “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1). 

Day 19: Pray for the teachers of Belize. Pray for the school children of Belize to learn quickly and to do well on their tests. Pray for the families of Belize. Pray for marriages to be strengthened.

Day 20: Pray for an end to all gang activity. Pray for violence and retaliation to cease. Pray for the young people to forsake drugs, crime, and immorality. 

Day 21: Pray for good weather during the Festival of Hope. “…even the wind and the sea obey Him!” (Mark 4:41). 

Day 22: Pray for the evangelists and missionaries who will be visiting Belize during the Festival of Hope. 

Day 23: Pray for every person in Belize to have an encounter with God Almighty during the Festival of Hope. Pray for the love of Christ to be manifested across the nation. 

Day 24: Pray for many salvations at the Belize Festival of Hope. “God our savior...wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth” (2 Timothy 2:4).

Day 25: Pray for miraculous healings in Belize, both physical and emotional. Pray for those suffering from HIV/AIDS. “He sent forth His word and healed them” (Psalms 107:20). 

Day 26: Pray for divine protection for Belize. “No weapon formed against you will prosper” (Isaiah 54:17).

Day 27: Pray for the church to have divine favor with those in authority. “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men” (Luke 2:52).

Day 28: Pray for strength for the Belize Festival of Hope team. “You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what is promised”  (Hebrews 10:36).  

Day 29: Pray for supernatural provision for the Belize Festival of Hope. “My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). 

Day 30: Pray for the follow-up that will happen after the Festival of Hope. Pray for every convert to become a disciple. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations” (Matthew 28:19). 

Day 31: Pray for the hearts of Belize to be open to the Gospel. “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling” (Ephesians 1:17-18). 

 

The National Prayer of Belize
Almighty and Eternal God, who through Jesus Christ has revealed Your Glory to all nations, please protect and preserve Belize, our beloved country. God of might, wisdom and justice, please assist our Belizean government and people with your Holy Spirit of counsel and fortitude. Let your light of Your divine wisdom direct their plans and endeavors so that with Your help we may attain our just objectives. With Your guidance, may all our endeavors tend to peace, social justice, liberty, national happiness, the increase of industry, sobriety and useful knowledge. We pray, O God of Mercy, for all of us that we may be blessed in the knowledge and sanctified in the observance of Your most holy law, that we may be preserved in union and in peace which the world itself cannot give. And, after enjoying the blessings of this life, please admit us, dear Lord, to that eternal reward that You have prepared for those who love You. Amen.
